These dynamics of the first Christians are found in the Orthodox Christian Faith. We keep the unchanging gospel of the Apostles, passed on through the Holy Scriptures and Holy Tradition. We maintain "the fellowship," not simply as cheerful greetings at coffee hour (though we do like that!), but as brothers and sisters in Christ, who center our lives on life in the Body of Christ. The climax of our life together is in our worship, especially at "the breaking of the bread," that is, the Holy Eucharist, or Communion. Finally, our common prayers are a rich tapistry of services throughout the year, celebrating our salvation in Christ through worship "in Spirit and in truth" (John 4:4). Authentic Christianity must embody all these powerful dynamics of life in Christ; it is not enough to have some of the vitamins of the gospel. We must have all of Christ, in His Body, the Church: the Orthodox Church.
We don't want to "beg the question" — that is, be presumptuous — about these things. Yet, we do want to be up front about what we believe: that the Orthodox Church is nothing more, and nothing less, than the normal Christian Faith — the one established by Jesus Christ and revealed to the Apostles. That is the challenge that we would put before you, even as we confess that we many times fall short of our calling in Christ. Yet, in this “normal” Orthodox Christian Faith is "the power of God unto salvation," to use the words of the Apostle Paul. We invite you to join us in our journey and life in Christ.
So, please explore this website and our Faith. It is our prayer that, in the end, you will see that Orthodoxy is “the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 1:3). Moreover, if you want to interact what we write here, you can write "comments" on most articles on this site; we encourage you to do just that!
